Tips for an Eco-Friendly Thanksgiving
The holiday season is just round the corner, but with every holiday season, many resources are wasted in the form of food packaging, decorations, and gift wrappers, just to name a few. This year let us change up some of our habits so that we can have a more eco-friendly and heart-warming Thanksgiving with our loved ones!
Tip 01: Bring your own reusable shopping bags when shopping. If you often forget to bring these bags with you, leave some in places where you often access, such as your handbag, the cabinet at your door or even in your car, so that they are always within reach!
Tip 02: Store ingredients or leftovers in reusable containers. Try using reusable wax wraps, food covers, and air-tight containers instead of your one-use plastic wraps and plastic containers to keep the food fresh.
Tip 03: Shop local and organic! By supporting your local producers, you are also contributing to the local agriculture scene, plus they can be fresher too!
Tip 04: Eat green. This may not be new to you but having more greens in your diet is beneficial to you and the environment, as greens emit much less carbon emissions compared to meat products, which in turn reduces your individual carbon footprint! Try adding an extra vegetable dish to your Thanksgiving dinner.
Tip 05: Encourage your guests to do the same! Gently remind and motivate those around you to give back to our environment by adopting more green habits.
Every small action count, our eco ambassadors, Titoy & Morchoo, will be so proud of us all for making Thanksgiving greener. Wishing you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving!
